Food from a Foody

Living in the French countryside gives me the chance to visit many market towns and farms in this area.

Yesterday I bought this lovely assortment of fruit, vegetables and cheese for lunch. I bought the fruit from a fruit farm, the goat cheese topped with spices from a goat farm and the vegetables at the outdoor market.  Sitting by the pool and eating this gorgeous food, what could be better?

The thing that makes this food different than what we might get in the big cities is that nothing is picked until it is ripe.  You need to eat what you buy every day as it doesn't last very long, that's a good thing. It does keep you busy shopping, but this is the country so why not?

This assortment of dried fruit at a market in Aix en Provence is just gorgeous.

Come to France, don't miss the markets.  They are plentiful, beautiful and delicious.
