Thanksgiving weekend in New York

I love New York and here I am, Thanksgiving weekend, sharing my favorite things with you.
Of course the fabulous food. Thanksgiving dinner with my family was fantastic, the food was superb and the family fun was too.

I love what I cannot get in France..... bagels, smoked salmon and cream cheese. No one does it like
Barney Greengrass on the upper West side.

I always get my hair done when I am here and one of the products I love is:

L'Oreal Liss serum

This is wonderful used after your shampoo and before you dry your hair.  Follow directions.

I went to the theatre and saw the show Beautiful.  It is the story of Carol King, shades of the past. It was fabulous and the music brought back lots of memories.

I have recommended these shoes before and because of the incredible response from my readers, I want to mention them again.
They are without a doubt the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn.  I just bought these bronze booties and love them.

I hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving weekend as much as I did.

My Best Day

One of the best days I can recall is the subject for todays blog.

The year I decided at the spur of the moment to go to Paris, from my home in country France, for a few days around Christmas.

Without a doubt the view down the Champs Elysees is brilliant. Last year they changed it but not for the better, I hope they go back to this scene again.

I treated myself to a few days at the beautiful and iconcic Hotel Georges V . I invited a few friends over and had a chance to catch up over tea in their gorgeous dining room.

You will be blown away by the magnificent flowers at the George V done by the incredible florist to the stars Jeff Leatham.

Restaurants in Paris are usually very good.  If you see a cute little bistro while walking around, the chances are you will get a good meal if you choose to stop.  We did just that and had the moules frites, they were perfect.

For dinner we went to  Hélène Darroze, it doesn't get better than that.   www.helenedarroze.com

I cannot remember the first time I was taken to La Stella but I do remember the last time, it was that Christmas trip.  I have to say it hasn't changed in twenty years, still wonderful.

Since most of Paris's storied brasseries are now owned by corporate chains and serve  mediocre food, it's a pleasure to head to one of the last remaining independent ones in a quiet corner of the silk-stocking 16th arrondissement for a fine feed of such well-prepared French classics as onion soup, escargots, sole meunière, steak tartare, roast lamb and other Gallic standards. The people-watching here might be subtitled "the discreet charm of the bourgeoisie", service is efficient and this place has what the French call du gueule, or real character. rue Victor Hugo in the 16th.

Wishing that today will be your best day yet.

All About Comfort

"Travel.  As much as you can.  As far as you can.  As long as you can.  Life's not meant to be lived in one place."

Gentleman's quote  tumblr

This is so true and for me, living in two countries, I do it often.  It is so important to be comfortable on those long flights.  If you feel the same way, I am showing you a few of my favorite things that make me feel good.

I just bought my latest pair of Bernie Mev shoes, the elastic booties.  You won't know how great they feel until you try them. Though not the most stylish shoes in my closet, I tend to wear Bernie Mev for their comfort.  I can wear them all day and am not dying to take them off when I get home.  They are amazing.

Cashmere pants and top..on sale

It is important to be comfortable while still looking good. This suit fits the bill for me.  Just tie a pretty scarf around your neck and you are good to go.

A Great Neiman Marcus tote

Don't forget to throw a snack in your bag.  For me, trail mix always satisfies.  Trader Joe has a great one.

Bon Voyage
