Summer coming to an end

As the summer quickly goes by I am trying to do and see all I can before I return to the States for about three months.

I look forward to a very busy three months in the U.S. with lots of French Vintage Home Events which I will photograph and tell you all about.  They will include the Crystal Charity Ball,  the Kappa Tablescapes event and at least one pop-up shop in another of Dallas' incredible homes.

This is a view from the bridge in the gorgeous village of Bordeilles, France

The beautiful flowers floating on the river caught my eye and then I saw the little boat, just fabulous

Visitng local galleries is just one of the things I like to do.  I fell in love with this sign

We have many of these beautiful French antique keys on our web site www.frenchvintagehome.com

Just bought this iconic Pastis 51 set and it will be on our web site shortly

These luxurious French vintage pillow shams are hand sewn and hand embroidered

I am a collector of these old French grain sacks and many are on our web site

These wonderful enamel door plaques will also be on our web site shortly.

I am so anxious for you to see what I am buying at the brocantes here in Southwest France,  that I often post things on my blog before they are actually posted on our web site.  However if any of these things interest you, we can definitely quote prices and ship them to you even before they are on our site.

Until next time..........A Bientôt

GARDEN LUNCH

Lunch in the outdoor dining room with lots of friends has become a bit of a tradition for me, I just love entertaining outdoors.  Here is the table awaiting its guests...........

The table is set and shortly lunch will be served........

This is the outdoor dining area.  Note the homage to the Fourth of July with the Ralph Lauren napkins strung in front......

If I entertain here in the evening, I turn on the lights inside the chinese lanterns.....

Individual savory bread puddings....carmelized onion and cheese... Yummy!!!!!

A cute little tree with cumquats looking as though they fell off the branches of the tree.....

First course was an Asian cabbage and mango slaw served in small jars......

I used small flat rocks as name cards......

A good time was had by all.......

Dinner with friends

Sunday night I was invited to dinner at a friends house where she was entertaining some former Tour de France cyclists and their wives.  Needless to say, this was a very fit crowd.

The food, however, was plentiful and delicious as per the photos.

Shopping the brocantes

Last Sunday I shopped the brocante close to my home and found some wonderful things.  I go to the flea markets almost every Sunday to find things for our web site www.frenchvintagehome.com

Here is a peek at the things even before we put them on the site.

As you can see the selection is quite diverse but each item is carefully selected and loved by me.

Hope you enjoy seeing this weeks purchases.

Shopping in Aix-en-Provence

Recently I went to the beautiful town of Aix-en-Provence in France.  It is in the beautiful area of Provence, a seven hour drive from where I live in La Tour Blanche. Though the drive was long, it was well worth the ride.

I went to Salon Cote Azur, a lovely trade show with beautiful merchandise for the trade.

One of the great totes made with vintage postal sacks and bits and pieces of new material

 Beautiful selection of spices

Vintage dress I fell in love with

I bought this sling garden chair with watermelon stripe fabric

Too much shopping to carry home our bags so we hired a motorized velo, great

Tel Aviv

Everyone recognizes this, don't they?

A windy day at the beach

They play music on the beach and everyone dances

Friends enjoying the sunshine

The brave go kite surfing

Good new friends

Peggy, my new best friend

Where we met every morning

The very best hummus ever

Start the day with this gorgeous drink

I would like to post a few pictures of the lovely people I met in Tel Aviv.
Having met Peggy in London at a wedding she was my first contact in Tel Aviv. Due to her kindness and generosity, she introduced me to many of her friends.

Our days started out at a beach cafe called La La Land for breakfast of yummy granola and beautiful cappuccinos. Later there was shopping, sight seeing and of course more eating.

Peggy hosted a lovely dinner in my honor and I was truly touched.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this beautiful city by the sea.

Shalom
